The Centre for Credible Leadership & Citizens Awareness (CCLCA) Nigeria is a distinguished non-governmental organisation dedicated to advancing good governance, ethical leadership, and civic engagement across Nigeria. Established as a coalition of civil rights organisations, CCLCA serves as a vigilant societal watchdog, championing transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. Our mission is to foster a Nigeria where democratic principles thrive, and citizens are empowered to actively shape a just and equitable society.
CCLCA Nigeria is driven by a vision of a nation led by principled leaders who prioritise the public good. We work tirelessly to cultivate a culture of integrity through leadership development, civic education, and anti-corruption advocacy. By equipping both leaders and citizens with the knowledge and tools to uphold democratic values, we bridge the gap between governance and grassroots participation, ensuring that every voice counts.
Our impactful programmes include workshops, voter education, election monitoring, and advocacy for transparency, all designed to strengthen Nigeria’s democratic fabric. In 2024, CCLCA made headlines by exposing irregularities in the Rivers State local government elections, labelling them a “mockery of democracy.” Our bold interventions, such as addressing the Rivers State political crisis, underscore our commitment to safeguarding constitutional democracy and promoting accountability.
Under the leadership of Dr. Gabriel Nwambu, our Director General, CCLCA Nigeria has become a beacon of hope for democratic reform. Through strategic partnerships with local and international organisations, we bring global best practices to Nigeria, enhancing our impact. Our efforts have empowered thousands, from training over 500 leaders to boosting voter participation by 20% in underserved communities, demonstrating tangible progress towards a more inclusive society.
CCLCA Nigeria also prioritises the empowerment of youth and women, recognising their pivotal role in shaping the nation’s future.
